ACRA BUSH BALLAD AWARD
WILL LIVE ON WITH NEIL'S NAME
Bush Ballad ACA Award;  Neil Beeby had been a musician, he would have been a bass player or drummer – the engine room of the music that is often in the background – working without missing a beat and often not noticed until they stop playing – and you suddenly notice that something that was integral to this great music is not here any longer.
Neil’s passion for country music was well known and documented over many years. He forged strong friendships with many of today’s stars, but it was his unfailing and enthusiastic support and encouragement of the developing artists that helped so many along the Australian country music track.
Tamworth might be for many the heart of Australian country music, but there was a heart in Canberra that beat just as strongly, and we’ll miss his friendship, passion, humour, dedication, and most certainly his wonderful contribution.

www.myspace.com/kristalcollins   One of the up and coming talents in Country Music and a name to remember is 17 year old Kristal Collins. Singing since 12 yrs of age & learning the basics through “Junior Country Crossover” in S.A. Kristal Covers a range of Country Pop, Rock and Ballad music and is also endeavouring to be proficient at song writing, guitar and compering.

Kristal Collins South Australian Star
Born in 1969, Paul Kelly began juvenile life of problems. When only 16 days old, Paul was the first baby to ever be fitted with a brain shunt, to try & halt the ravaging effects of Hydracephalus, brought on by a brain haemorrhage at birth.
Fortunately the experiment worked, & by the time he was 9 years old he had had a further 8 brain operations for shunt problems & renewals. Within 6 months, Paul was facing further trouble with chronic Scoliosis. The next  5 years  saw Paul have another 6 major operations tyo get his spine fused, from  top to bottom, to help save his life.  During one of his hospital stays of traction & immobility, Paul was given a cassette player & a Slim Dusty tape by his mother, which encouraged a very healthy interest in country music.Since then, Paul has accumulated a massive collection of country music memorabilia, & has surprised many people in the industry. For instance, part of the collection is a huge tribute to Slim Dusty, which has been acknowledged by several CM authorities as being  vastly extensive, & possibly one of the largest in the world.  Within this area, Paul has more than 800 press clippings, more than 300 photos, & over 500 autographs of Slim, Apart from 3 black Columbia 78's Paul has all recordings put out by Slim,  many interview discs,  lots of specially made articles signed by Slim, & a great number of posters, plus loads of other interesting things. Country music Doyen Peter Burgis has labelled Paul as a country music historian & "Slimdustyologist" which we think is very appropriate.Since starting collecting in 1978, Paul is still finding things & is also very grateful if people send him bits & pieces they no longer want. He is hoping to build a Country Music museum in the future, which will absolutely amaze  CM lovers with its contents. Amongst the huge number of posters, are several very old ones, advertising some of Slim's early concerts in 1954, 1955, 1956, 1964, 1965 & 1968, all signed by Slim himself. Many photos of articles in his collection were used in the assembly of the accompanying booklet published for the box set of Slim's "Man Who Is Australia" put out by EMI.In early 2004 Paul was asked by the producer of the "Lights On The Hill" special which was aired on National ABC TV to appear with some of his collection, with many of his photos  used throughout the programme.Paul was also asked by the Toowoomba Lions Club to have a display at their annual Hobby & Craft Show. The same week, regional ABC radio also did an interview with him about his collection. In all, Paul has done a lot of publicity for the Country Music industry over the years, which we are sure must be appreciated by the industry peers.Paul has got his 6th guitar fully autographed by Australian & Overseas artists. Many of the artists are very well known including Freddie Fender, Don Williams, Foster & Allen, Charlie Landsborough, Slim Dusty, Isla Grant, Don McLean, Stan Coster, Keith Urban, Topp Twins, Ted Egan plus lots more.In Paul's collection are some personally autographed photos of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, Hank Williams Jnr, Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, Loretta Lynne, Charlie Pride, Freddie Fender, Tanya Tucker, Randie Travis, Reba McIntyre, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, June Carter-Cash, Porter Wagner plus hundreds more.
We are looking forward to seeing Paul's  amazing collection asdsembled into a Country Museum, which we are sure will astound many  interested people.

After spending over 20 years breeding & exhibiting Corgis, & running hundreds of dog shows, making ceramic pieces is a much more leisurely way of having fascinating enjoyment. 18 months of learning & many seminars with overseas teachers,  preceded 8 days spent at a Teachers Examination, which was then sent to USA for marking. Consequently in September 1983, Shirley's Ceramic World was born in Gatton, Q'land, where it stayed till 1985, when it was resettled in Toowoomba, Q'land & still is today in 2007.The late eighties saw us include a craft gift shop, which contained all homemade crafts from many enthusiasts of dozens of different hobbies, including our large range of ceramics ware. Thus was the birth of Shirleyware in 1990 which still operates as an arm of SCW in Toowoomba today. In the early nineties, we began introducing a large range of  cows to the Shirleyware business, making it possibly the largest assortment of cow ware in Australia, in fact we manufacture nearly 200.For the Ned Kelly fanatics, the stock on the Shirleyware website are totally unique, except for the moneybox which is an old Australian mould from years ago. All the others have been made specially for the Shirleyware  industry , & judging by the public response, they are drawing phenomenal interest. All are made of Earthenware Clay ceramics, & hand painted individually, & the decals [pictures] on selected items have been especially designed & are copyrighted artwork. Only Shirleyware is the  place to get our iconic Ned Kelly's  as the werbsite shows. The Aquarium ornamental décor is made of earthenware ceramics also, & covered in non-toxic colours, & fired over 1000 degree heat, making them exceptionally hard, & have already been proven safe.
Please visit our website  www.shirleyware.net  & be sure to tell your friends.

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman.. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Naughty!
Hello once again
Well it’s been a great year so far, half of it gone already, the next 6 months is shaping up to be a very busy period and I am looking forward to it.  My yearly Elvis Presley Tribute Night at the Railway Bowling Club Goulburn is coming up on the 14th August, a night that shouldn’t be missed.  I started these nights on the 25th Anniversary of Elvis’ passing not realising how big the night would grow.  The plan was to do the show every 2 years but by popular demand it has become a yearly event with some patrons getting to the club 2 hours early just so they can grab seats.  The Midnight Riders, of which I am a member have secured the Railway Bowling Club Goulburn for New Years Eve as well and on the 29th August, My brother Jacob has organised a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis at Harrigan’s Irish Pub in Jacobs Well, Queensland for which I will travelling up to perform.  On the 20th November Joe McManamon’s Tamworth On Parade 20 Year Anniversary extravaganza in Wagga is shaping up to be a night people won’t forget.
July will be a busy month
Hopefully I will see some of you at some of my gigs, until then take care and God Bless

IMPORTANT
Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in soda bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns.  When you go to pick up the trash, and the bottle is shaken just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up a gas and explodes with enough force to remove some of your extremities.  The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well. Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc. Pay attention to this.
1. a plastic bottle with a  cap.
2. a little Drano.
3. a little water
4. a small piece of foil.
5. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!! No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.

People are finding these "bombs" in mailboxes and in their yards, just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the trash. But,  you'll never make it!!! It takes about 30 seconds to blow after you move the thing.
See  "SNOPES" below....it's true.

Dennis Marsh Farewell Concert
9 October 2010
Founder's Theatre/Hamilton
Mr Joe McManamon  G’day Joe,
Stephen Brady has got together with three lovely ladies to form Brady Stewart Green & Young.
On the 20th November 2009, they released an album called Arrow, and I recently interviewed Stephen Brady about the album and produced an album feature of Arrow.
Arrow contains fifteen tracks and there is a strong Irish Celtic influence throughout the album, which I believe, would appeal to your Irish audience.I am sending you a copy of the album feature via you-send-it, as I am yet to get Panda to work on my computer.
There appears to be an incompatibility problem. I have written to Panda, but they have yet to respond – very disappointing! If you want any background information on Brady Stewart Green & Young, go to www.blueshamrockmusic.com .
Permission is given to use the MP3 titled Mike Crozier’s Australian Country Brady Stewart Green & Young 18 June 2010 Arrow Album Feature for any promotional purpose you or your agents feel is appropriate.
The programme format of the MP3 is copyright of Michael R Crozier OAM.  Songs on the MP3 are copyright of the artists, writers and recording companies for their respective rights and interests.

Our stn has been on air just over ten years . My shows are all listed on the Australian playlist board , Nashville Showcase, Joyce Ramgati's board , TwangTown .etc .. Shows are called  Whitestone Country on Tuesdays , Whitestone City , on Fridays . Oamaru Gospel Show on Sunday afternoons .  With  mp3's I get so much music its hard to find time to give it all time plus play the oldies that our listeners like to hear if you look at my playlists  you will see what I mean .As far as I know only one frequency is being used out at Reidstone thats the area where 88.4 and 107.7 is . and that I think is 107.7 .  The other two stn's in town  are A Country music one which is just a computer in a garage the other is a Rock  n Roll  and thats just a computer firing it out . The country one has a very small coverage and the R n R one has quite a good coverage of the town .. Just a bit more on ours  we do interviews in studio not only artists but community people eg the Mayor comes in each month on the breakfast shows .. each Tuesday on my show I have the local community cop come in with a breakdown of the weekends crimes etc then him and I have a bit of a natter about anything that we deem important ,eg Drink drivers , etc etc .Cell phones being used in cars that sort of thing ,, I have even sat people down off a bus trip and talked with them live .. One day a lady came off a bus and said I do voice overs on a stn in Texas ,so I said stick your bum down your going to work right now ,,she loved it ,left the studio flying about three feet above the ground ..
all the best  .

Recipe of the week
Crispy Bacon & Parmesan Quick Scones
The quick and easy way to whip up a homely afternoon treat. Here’s an interesting variation on the traditional brown scone.
Ingredients:
1 packet Odlums Quick Brown Scone Mix
25g/1oz Parmesan Cheese (finely grated)
3 Streaky Rashers (finely chopped and fried until crispy)
250ml Milk
Method:
Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6. Lightly dust flat baking tray with flour.
Empty the contents of Odlums Quick Scone Mix into a mixing bowl. Add the cheese and crispy bacon and mix well.
Pour on the milk and mix to form a ball of dough.
Sprinkle flour on work surface and press out until it is about 1 inch in height. Preheat tin in oven while shaping scones!
Using a 7 1/2 cms / 3" cutter cut out scones. You will get 6 large scones from the packet.
Place on heated tin and bake for about 15 minutes until well risen and golden brown.
Cool, wrapped in a clean tea towel.

A Corkman sent his son to University and a few days later received a letter from him asking for £10. To save face he added the following P.S.:
'I am so ashamed to ask you for money that I have run after the postman to recover this letter but the post had already gone. I can only pray that the letter will be lost in the post'. A few days later he received the following letter from his father.
Dear Son,
Don't upset yourself, the letter was lost in the post.
Your loving father.
P.S. I would enclose the £10 but I have already sealed the envelope.

Bull and Turkey
A turkey is chatting with a bull.
"I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighs the turkey, "but I just haven't got the energy."
"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replies the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."
The turkey pecks at a lump of dung and finds that it actually gives him enough strength to reach the first branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reaches the second branch.
Finally after a week, there he is proudly perched at the top of the tree.
Unfortunately he is spotted by a farmer, who shoots him out of the tree.
Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.
Fiona, Cork
Two dumb fishermen decided to rent a boat on a lake. After fishing for hours at various spots and catching nothing, they decided to try one more time before calling it quits. Suddenly, fish started biting and they caught their limit inside of 20 minutes.
"Hey, we should mark this spot so next time we'll know where to fish," the first man told his buddy.
"Good idea," the second man replied, taking out a can of spray paint and making a large X on the floor of the boat.
"Why'd you do that?" his friend asked.

"Now anyone who rents this boat will know where to fish."
